Phalange 2.0 (Spalted Maple)
The original "Phalange" is back with a few improvements to the original design! The forefinger indentation is still the center of balance for this knife, and not only does it have a tremendously comfortable fit – it also gives confidence with its balance and a feeling of ultimate control. Some of the wooden handle has been knocked back onto the tang, giving a bit more depth to the cutting edge, and some jimping (ridges on spine) has been added onto the spine for more grip when push cutting.
The blade is forged from what use to be an old lawnmower blade. The design boasts a full-tang construction. It has been annealed, hardened, and tempered to give the blade incredible durability and flexibility as a working tool.
The handle is made from a stabilized piece of spalted Maple wood. The handle is pinned to the blade with steel pins – one of which is hollow, with a inner diameter of 3/8” - perfect for hanging or tying a lanyard through.
The knife comes with a custom leather sheath made from the scraps of a horse saddle. The sheath is created from a single piece of leather, which has been riveted together, waxed, and stitched by hand with waxed linen.
