Hack Knife (Snakeskin)
$200.00 Sold Out
The Hack Knife is made from a used hacksaw blade. It's teeth have been smoothed out just enough to make a comfortable backing to help your thumb grip against the spine. And yet, the teeth can still dig into some small wood. After all, It's a pretty small knife.
The knife boasts a full-tang construction. The steel has been annealed, hardened and tempered to give the blade both durability and flexibility. The blade has also been forge-finished to create a patina on the steel, which helps prevent further corrosion of the steel over time.
The handle is made from a piece of Apple wood from an orchard in Northeastern Ohio and the shed layer of the Pacific Northwest Garter snake. The snakeskin has been lacquered to the handle and encased within another layer of the lacquer as well.
The knife comes with a custom leather sheath made from the scraps of a horse saddle. The sheath is created from a single piece of leather, which has been riveted together, waxed, and stitched by hand with waxed linen.
